イタリアで毎年９月第一週目の週末に３日間開催される「２Days Prog ＋1 Festival」において、我々は２日目に演奏しました。
この屋外フェスは、イタリアで最も重要なプログフェスとして知られていて、毎年大御所バンドが出演します。
演奏会場の様子は、広々とした緑の大地に大型ステージが設置され、ステージの上にはドラムセットが３セット横並びで配置され、ステージ脇にはたくさんの機材を積んだ大型トレーラー付けてあり、私とMikaは、本番当日の午前中に借りるキーボード５台を確認しました。
しかしその際に、我々の予定通りに使用が叶わない機材かある、という深刻な問題が発覚。
午後のサウンドチェックでなんとかそれを解決しようとしましたが１時間しかないサウンドチェックで新たなる問題が追加発生。
まさに窮地に陥りましたが、それでも本番は予定通りやるしかない！なので、気合を入れ直してなんとかして即興で対応することになりました。
不安はありましたが、演奏前にはたくさんの聴衆が来ているのを見て、またステージ際の人々から声援をもらって、こちらも気分が高まりました。
本番直前、ステージ横で私たちが待機していると、ステージの上ではまず司会者が我々を紹介。
締めくくりに「ARS NOVA!」と、バンド名を合図に呼ばれて、いざ我々は階段を上がってステージに立つと、多くの聴衆が拍手と声援で迎えてくれました。
「発生した問題は跳ね除けて、演奏を楽しむしかない！」という強い前向きな気力を全開にして、１曲目の新曲PARADEからスタートです。

アンコールに予定していたSUCCUBUSは、演奏時間切れのため演奏できませんでした。
ライブ演奏全体では我々のステージ上のモニターのバランスは良く無かったので、なんとか目でお互いのメンバーの動きを見張ったり、小さい音（あるいは聞こえない）を必死で掴んで演奏していました。
現地での演奏状態、音のバランスが日本（東京）でいつも演奏しているような十分な良い状態ではないリスクを背負って終わったことは残念でしたが、聴衆にはとても好評であったのはありがたいことでした。
演奏後にはたくさんの人たちが我々の物販ブースに来てくれて、その応対で食事は後回しになる程、忙しかったです。
私たちのステージ衣装も（和洋折衷の”Yukata-Dress)が人々からの注目を浴びて、かなりたくさん写真撮影されました。
主催者、全てのスタッフたちの気配りや対応には感謝いっぱいです。
彼らは我々を本当に歓迎してくれました！

We performed on the second day of the 2 Days Prog +1 Festival, which takes place every year in Italy over three days on the first weekend of September.
This outdoor festival is known as Italy’s most important Prog festival,
and every year it attracts big-name bands.
The venue consisted of a large stage set up on a spacious green field,
with three drum sets lined up side-by-side on the stage, and a large trailer loaded with equipment to the side.
Mika and I checked the five keyboards we’d be renting in the morning of the performance.
However, during that time, we discovered a serious problem that meant we wouldn’t be able to use them as planned for the performance.
We tried to resolve the issue during the afternoon soundcheck,
but new problems arose during the one-hour soundcheck.
We were in a real predicament, but we still had no choice but to perform as planned, so we refocused and managed to improvise a solution.
Despite my anxiety, I saw a large audience before the performance,
and my spirits were lifted by the cheers of the people.
Just before the show started, we were waiting offstage, and the MC introduced us first.
To conclude, he called out the band’s name, “ARS NOVA!”, and as we ascended the stairs to take the stage, the audience erupted in applause and cheers.
We set off with a positive attitude, determined to brush aside any problems and enjoy the performance! We kicked off with our first new song, “PARADE.”

SUCCUBUS, which was scheduled as an encore, could not be performed due to time running out.
The balance of our onstage monitors was poor throughout the live performance, so we had to keep an eye on each other’s movements and desperately try to pick up on faint (or inaudible) sounds while we performed.
It was unfortunate that we ended up risking our performance conditions and sound balance not being as good as they usually are when we perform in Japan (Tokyo), but we were grateful that the audience really liked it.
After the performance, so many people came to our merchandise booth that we were so busy serving them that we had to put off eating.
Our stage costumes (Japanese-Western “Yukata-Dresses”) attracted a lot of attention and were photographed a lot.
We are so grateful to the organizers and all the staff for their thoughtfulness and hospitality.
They really made us feel welcome!
